Justice Rides

Since the killing of George Floyd on May 25th, 2020, New York City has, on an almost daily basis, seen protests demanding justice and accountability from the NYPD for their too-often fatal treatment of Black and Brown New Yorkers. StreetRidersNYC is a volunteer collective that hosts weekly protest rides, community cleanups, and voter registration drives to not only promote visibility for the continuing BLM protest movement, but to make impactful change on communities across New York.

I wanted to document this incredible protest movement as at was blossoming, and these videos are my impressions taken over many weeks riding with them. While I originally was shooting on my own, some of this footage has been included in news reports on StreetRidersNYC, including for NBC News, and is being included in an in-production documentary about StreetRidersNYC and other groups who continue to protest for Black lives.
